(More customer reviews)I bought this blanket because the blanket itself felt nice.That is the one pro from this blanket, it feels nice.
Here are the problems that I see with this blanket, starting with the least annoying to the most.
1) This unit comes with 2 controlers and both of these require a plug in to 120 volts.So this blanket requires 2 outlets to use it.Not a big deal, but I only had one available and had to add a extension.
2) The remote controls on this unit have large rounded bases so that they can free stand on a nightstand.The problem with this is we don't have nightstands that are close enough to both sides of the bed, to reach the controls while we are already tucked into bed.Becasue the base is so large you can't really hang these over the headboard like we have always done in the past.
3) If you are used to always running your bed on the same setting (like at heat setting of 5), the control won't remember this setting, when you turn on the controller it always starts at one.If you run preheat in the 1 setting it will take the blanket to 10 when preheat is done.If you set the blanket to a number other then 1 it will go back to that number after the preheat is done.
4) The logic for heating the bed is weird.It has a preheat mode that lasts minutes, and then it won't allow another preheat.The manual says that this is done so the blanket doesn't get too hot. Preheat on normal blankets is just a high setting for soemthing like 1/2 hour, so you can hit preheat as often as you want becasue the heat setting is no differnt then high.If the blanket can't run in the high setting it shouldn't be included.This really causes a problem becasue the preheat isn't enough to get you warm, and you can't preheat a second time, so you end up turning your blanket up too high, and then to tend to fall asleep, and wake upin the middle of the night roasted.
