Linon Shutter Twin-Size Bunk Bed Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)purchased from bunkbeds-store.Very happy with their service. The bunk beds are really nice. The wood finish is nice and get this. The directions were actually quite well written. All you will need is a phillips head screw driver. The instructions were easy to follow and it only took a few hours to set up the whole bunk bed.Basically it will take you one evening. Our kids haven't had a chance to try them out yet but they smell and look great. The wood seems to be very strong also. The connections are very sturdy. Also the list of things not to do is very instructive as well.My wife and I couldn't be more satisfied with this product for the price.Kind of wish it had bottom draws but this was the nicest looking bunk bed in its price range.Again very happy with the quality of this product.

Twin Full Size Futon Metal Bunk Bed with "C" Style in Black Finish Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)Did the designer of this bed had ever tried this bed at least once?

I bought this bed, 2 mattresses included, for $150 (used by in good condition). Even at that price, I consider I wasted my money. Although this bed looks interesting in style, the major flaw is the C-Shape. Because of this C-Shape the lateral section of the bed is significantly reduced. Practically the entire upper bunk is balanced by a permanent torque on the smallest section of the C. As a result, this acts as a spring. With a person weighting around 100 pounds on the top bunk, you can see the bed swinging up/down quite noticeably.

Also the cheap mount used to assemble the bed is not rigid enough. The bed also swings laterally (left/right) when the kid uses the ladder at the side (the only way to get to the top bunk).

Ironically, when the bed is disassembled, each component looks very sturdy. The flaw is that stupid C-Shape which ruined the whole bed. That was my mistake, I looked at the empty bed and overlooked to test the bed. The designer had created the bed for a show room, not to be used as a bed!

I am a handy man. I know how to add extra re-enforcement bars to make it rigid. But the time spent to design the parts is simply not worth it. It would be much more profitable to buy another style of bunk bed. Now that I know this bed, even given for free I won't take it.
