(More customer reviews)Some years ago I invested in one of those sleep number mattresses for my now departed wife and myself.While it was sold with a long guarantee, like most warranties, the warranty included was pro-rated so over the successive years as parts of the mattress were worn badly I was left buying a new pillow top and case for the air chamber components.As I went to install the new components I saw how badly worn the original items were, and how dirty and yellowed the original pillow top had gotten.Sweat and body oils wore through the linens and eventually stained the white pillow top.

With new components in place I'm doing the best I can to keep things nice and like new and that meant finding a product like this to use to keep body oils and such off the mattress.I wish this was perhaps a little less expensive, but given the price that I paid for the new mattress components buying this mattress cover is a reasonable investment, especially given the 'odd' size (Olympic Queen) of my mattress.

This mattress cover isn't noticable when installed (a very good thing) and doesn't at all change the comfort of the mattress or the sheet that covers it.Highly recommended for helping to extend the life of your mattress :-)

(More customer reviews)I have been looking for a WATERPROOF mattress pad for some time.I wanted something that worked, but didn't want to pay a fortune for it.I've had several pads that either weren't really waterproof, fell apart after only one wash, etc.Anyway, decided to try this one out.I bought it from LinenSpa, but fulfilled by Amazon so that I could get the free shipping (LinenSpa Mattress Protector Deep Pocket 100% Waterproof & Dust Mite Protection, QUEEN).First off, for those of you wondering who manufacturers the pad ... it's Undercovers by MALOUF (malouffinelinens).Second, don't think you are getting a GREAT deal (a deal, but not a GREAT deal) ... this is no where near a $100+ mattress pad.Third, I'm not sure how much of a dust or mite barrier the pad really is since it only covers the top part of the mattress.The pad does appear that it will protect the mattress against a toddler's nighttime accidents (which is why I bought it) and stand up to hot water washings (although, I don't know for sure).The pad went on easy, fits securely, and feels nice (terry towel on top and kind of a rubbery texture on bottom ... not bulky at all).I still put a waterproof pad Basic Comfort Handy's Mattress Pad by Summer Infant over the sheet to make changes quick and easy (especially at night).So far, I am happy with my purchase.I will update this review after I've had the pad for a little while.

(More customer reviews)I bought the queen size Allerzip mattress protector in February of '09 for $69.99, and it has been great.After putting this on my mattress, and of course having an exterminator come in to do his thing, I started to notice immediately that I wasn't getting bitten anymore.So it's definitely a quality product.

Now it is 2 months later, and my roommate is getting a new mattress so I told him to pick up one of these Allerzip protectors and then we saw the new price...$114.99! (used to be $69.99 on Amazon)

So the price has skyrocketed from $69 to $114 in 2 months?!Allerzip, you make an excellent product (it is great, seriously), but what is going on here?A 65% price hike seems a little steep.

(More customer reviews)It has a tiny weak zipper and the zipper keeps opening on my 11" foam mattress.If the zipper was more durable it would fit better.The manufacture only rates it for 7"-12" which is probably close to reality on a slightly shorter than standard size mattress.I would recommend add a couple inches to height to adjust.

After I have had it now for a while the zipper seems stable as long as I don't move the mattress off the bed and I think overall it is an OK product.
